No school on Monday, February 18th.


Reading:

Continue to read with your child each night for at least 15 minutes. Keep encouraging your child to make progress in Accelerated Reading. Reading and rereading builds fluency and comprehension.


Math:
We will focus on addition/subtraction fact families, centimeters, quarters, and digital clocks. Keep letting your child count with coins. The hands-on learning will only benefit your child.

Information:

Please make sure your child has a warm coat, gloves, and a hat for recess. We will go outside if it is above freezing!

Please remember all students are to wear tennis shoes to school.

Please be sure to send in a healthy snack with your child everyday. We do not eat lunch until 12:15.

Copy paper is needed by all first grade teachers for anyone wishing to make a donation.



First Grade and Multiage Supply List for 2007- 2008:

Your child needs these supplies for the first day of school.

Boys Bring: 1 pump bottle of Hand Sanitizer
1 box SNACK size Ziploc bags

Girls Bring: 1 spray bottle of CLOROX ANYWHERE sanitizing spray
1 box GALLON size Ziploc bags

Everyone Bring:
Crayons*
Colored pencils*
2 large white glue sticks (.77oz.)*
10 pencils (made of wood #2)*
scissors (small 5"Fiskars)*
5 EXPO dry erase markers
1 clipboard*
1 box of Kleenex tissues
1 box of Band-Aids
2 packs of any size sticky notes (Post-It notes)
1 roll of paper towels
CLOROX disinfecting wipes (for household surfaces)
3 two - pocket folders with fasteners
1 four oz bottle of Elmer's white glue


Optional Items (nice to have)
Scotch tape
Thin line washable markers*
Large washable markers*
1 set of watercolor paints*

*Please write your child's name in permanent marker on these items.

No school boxes or loose leaf notebooks
No rolling backpacks
- they won't fit in our space and the children will not be required to carry heavy materials this school year.

Some of these items will need to be sent in again after the Winter Holidays, as our supply usually runs low by then. We will send a note home when time to do so.
