Thrasher Cool Cats Chorus
Students completed auditions for chorus on Friday and met on Monday, the 16th, for their first rehearsal. I am thrilled with all the wonderful voices I heard. The students now have the option to attend this week and next before making their final decision to become members of chorus. At that point, contracts will go home to be signed by student and parent. Included will be a schedule of performances.
The chorus will perform during assembly each month with character songs and patriotic songs.

Fifth-Grade Music Class
Recorders have been ordered and should arrive August 20. The recorder, book, and neck strap are a package deal and cost $9. Checks should be made out to "Thrasher Elementary." Students can make arrangements to pay in installments if that is more helpful. Recorders will be used throughout the entire school year and students are to bring their recorders and books to music class each week.

Thrasher Handbell Choir
Auditions for Handbell Choir will begin on Tuesday, August 24, during PAT.

Second Grade
Second grade will present the first PTA program of the new 2010-2011 school year with a salute to autumn, my favorite season. The program will be on Tuesday, October 5, at 6:30 pm. More details will be forthcoming.
