Welcome to 2010! We have many exciting events planned for January.
I want to thank you for the visa card from the class and all the many wonderful gifts. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
Report cards went home on Monday. Please sign and return the comment card and the holder. You may keep the papers for your records.
First Grade Winter Performance
The First Graders will perform for the PTA on Tuesday, February 2 at 6:00. Mark your calendars and come join us for a fun evening.
No school on January 18, MLK Day
Field Study trip to the Creative Discovery Museum on January 25. We will leave at 8:50 and return around 12:40. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink that day as the cafe will be closed when we return. I will need a few parents to attend CDM. Chaperones are required for this trip. Write me a note and let me know if you can go. Parents will have to drive or carpool because we can no longer let parents ride the school bus with us due to liability.
We will go out to recess unless it is below 32 degrees. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS A WARM COAT TO GO OUT FOR RECESS. A hat and gloves are great too.
Listen to your child read everyday. Our goal is for all students to become secure, capable readers. Reading out loud helps students become fluent readers. Don't forget reading to your child is also very important.
Wish List for our class:
#2 pencils (yellow) ex. Ticonderoga or Papermate. These sharpen the best.
Packing tape
A parent willing to clean and refill paint cups every week or two.
